Punjab government must act as centre of public welfare: Nawaz

20 May, 2008

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s Quaid, Mian Nawaz Sharif has asked their provincial ministers and public representatives to devote their all energies to redress the public grievances on priority basis. He expressed his views while addressing the party members here at his Raiwind residence on Monday.
Sharif said that the people of Punjab have reposed confidence on the PML-N in the elections and in return it is duty of the PML-N legislators to devote their energies to materialise their expectations.
Meanwhile, he asked the party's provincial ministers to formulate such policies, which could help reduce the price hike and make people's lives convenient and also suggested to concentrate on providing cheap transport facilities, better health and education facilities to the public.
Moreover, Sharif urged the provincial ministers that they should easily be available for the public so that people could share their grievances, adding that they (party representatives) must make the provincial government a centre of public welfare so that others could follow suit.
However, Sharif stressed the need to take the public and stakeholders into confidence first while preparing the policies for their welfare and upgradation. The PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Dost Mohammad Khosa, provincial ministers and PML-N leaders were also present.
