Driving licenses: directive for setting up two more booths

Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has directed senior traffic officers to establish two more booths for the issuance of traffic learner licenses and also install four printers in licensing branch for the convenience of the people.
Presiding over a meeting of senior traffic police officers here on Monday to review traffic system in the provincial metropolis and problems being faced by the Lahorites in obtaining driving licenses, he said that all possible steps should be taken to facilitate the people as there are queues at driving license places and people have to face difficulties in getting learner and permanent licenses.
He directed senior traffic officers to set up two more learner licenses booth at suitable places in the city and learners should be issued from these booths within a week. He said at present, there is only one printer at licensing branch in Traffic Office which is off and on is out of order and the people have to wait for a long time. He directed the officers to install four more printers in this office so that citizens could obtain licenses timely.
Rathore also directed to distribute motorbikes parked at Wardens Line in Traffic Wardens to further improve the performance of the wardens and streamlining the traffic system. He said that two more mobile canteens should be utilised for the provision of cold water to the wardens deployed at various places.
He also directed Chief Traffic Officer to ensure his presence in his office from 8 am to 4 pm in order to redress the grievances of the problems pertaining to traffic police and driving licenses. He directed the officers to make all out efforts for the smooth flow of traffic in the city and SPs should pay surprise visits themselves to different parts of the city to monitor the performance of senior traffic wardens.
Traffic rules violators should be checked but officials should be courteous and polite during the proceeding.DIG City Traffic Ghalib Ali Bandesha, Chief Traffic Officer, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, SP City Traffic Sardar Muhammad Asif and SP Traffic Saddar Imran Yaqoob were also present on this occasion.
