Major stock markets outside the United States ended on Monday.
The index is up 2 percent so far this month, adding to a 6 percent rise in the index in April. US stocks rose during European stock market trading hours after a key economic forecasting gauge suggested that even though the economy was weak, it has averted recession, easing worries about the profit outlook.
