22 May, 2008

Livestock Extension Director General, Dr Muhammad Irfan Zahid, has said 10 million cattle in the province will be immunised to protect them from being affected by various diseases. He said this while chairing a department meeting here on Wednesday.
He said his department would initially provide "anmol vanda" for four livestock farms, adding that his department is working under annual development programme in which training programmes would be organised in 12 districts aimed at increasing income, including provision of medicines and poultry units. "This will not only increase the production of milk and eggs but also help meet the increasing need of animal protein for people," he added.
