Punjab PPP Vice-President Malik Ahmed Hussain Dehar, MPA, said: "We must be united to strengthen the parliamentary system", adding that flexibility and reconciliation are the need of the hour. Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he said: "We are committed to the Bhurban Declaration and the 'Charter of democracy' that Benazir and Nawaz Sharif signed in London".
He also said: "Now we are trying to find out the solution as how to find right way or easy way to bring this bill in the parliament. Because any constitutional step cannot be undone through an unconstitutional step". We are the democratic government, we don't want to take a step as it was taken by a dictator because that act was wrong politically, morally and constitutionally.
He said that Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif were timely informed about the name of the Punjab Governor, but they did not raise any objection on it. We want to settle matters with negotiations" he said. Dehar stressed that the media, civil society and the politicians must play their positive role, and give leverage to each other. He said Pakistan People's Party believes in reconciliation policy rather than confrontation, he said.
