Major stock markets outside the United States ended on Friday.
Oil prices also weighed on sentiment as they resumed their climb, fuelling worries over inflation and the outlook for company results. The FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares closed 1.7 percent lower, at 1,322.22 points. The index ended the week with a loss of 3.1 percent, its worst weekly performance since early March.
The All-share index closed at 32,542.39 points, down 690.5 or 2.08 percent, falling 158.59 points during the week. The All Gold index closed at 2,565.16 points, up 4.54 or 0.18 percent, gaining 92.76 points on the week. The Industrial index closed at 21,532.21 points, down 238.06 or 1.09 percent, but better off by 72.11 points since last Friday.
