US names new military liaison officer to Pakistan

The Pentagon has named Rear Admiral Michael LeFever, a top navy personnel officer, to fill the position as senior American military liaison officer to Pakistan, the New York Times reported on Friday.
The move followed the cancellation of the appointment of Major General Jay Hood as the top American officer in Pakistan, after Pakistani news outlets criticised him for his previous job as commander of the military of the notorious prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
