Frustrated by the slow take-off of WiMax, the emerging high-speed wireless technology, Liberty Global Inc will consider partnerships like the US venture between Sprint Nextel Corp and Clearwire Corp, Liberty Chief Executive Mike Fries said on Wednesday.
Fries told the Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit that the company, which runs cable networks in 15 countries and owns wireless airwaves in several countries including Chile, aims to use WiMax to offer mobile data services in addition to its home broadband Internet services.
