On the special directive of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal) has finalised arrangements to import Urea fertiliser and wheat to overcome the shortage of these commodities in the country.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, Minfal has decided to import 0.35 million tonnes of Urea fertilizer to meet the domestic demand. It said that 50,000 tonnes of Urea fertilizer will be reaching here by June from Saudi Arabia, while arrangement for import of another 0.3 million tons Urea has been finalised and expected to reach in July this year.
