President Pervez Musharraf on Monday reiterated Pakistan's firm resolve to fight terrorism and stressed the need of a comprehensive three-pronged strategy that combines security, political and socio-economic developments tracks.
He expressed these views while discussing Pak-US relations with US Senator Russ Feingold who called on him in Rawalpindi and discussed bilateral relations, recent political developments and counter-terrorism-related issues.
President Musharraf underscored the importance of a vibrant Pakistan-US relationship while highlighting the commonality of views between the two countries on a broad range of issues.
He emphasised the need for deepening and broadening bilateral co-operation in all fields of common interest. Senator Feingold termed Pakistan-US relationship as extremely important and appreciated Pakistan's pivotal role in fighting terrorism and promotion of regional stability. Noting the importance of a multi-pronged approach, he emphasised the significance of strengthened security along Pakistan-Afghan border.
