President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday asked the Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar to resign and provide explanation to the Supreme Judicial Council for detention of judges as a judge cannot be arrested according to the constitution.
Talking to media at the residence of the deposed chief justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, he said that the presidency is still busy in hatching conspiracies to avert the reinstatement of the CJ.
While talking about the meeting of an American delegation, which called on the deposed CJ at his residence, he said that the delegation was shocked to know about the treatment given to the family of Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Aitzaz said it was astonishing for the delegation that the CJ along with his family was detained for five months at his residence and his children were not allowed to attend their schools during the detention.
Talking about the audio tape unveiled by the PML-N which alleged Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for making arrangements to keep Sharif brothers out of the elections, he said that it seems as if the recording is factual. Earlier, a similar recording had appeared in which Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum was found involved in a similar activity, he added.
