President Young Entrepreneurs Organisation (YEO) Syed Umer Nazar Shah, Senior Naib President Mohsin Cheema, Naib President Sheikh Javed and Media President Mian Danish Ayub, office-bearers of YEO and industrialists expressed their grave concern over the increasing cost of production, high prices of powers, oil, gas, raw material and other articles.
They were expressing their views in the monthly meeting of YEO. They said that the rates of cotton in Pakistan had gone very high and if we compare the same with India, the rates of cotton in India are 10 percent less than those in Pakistan. They said that from eight to ten hours' loadshedding had crippled the textile industry while 150 more textile industries would be closed down if loadshedding is not controlled.
Under these circumstances hundreds and thousands of people had been rendered jobs and the unemployment among the younger generation was causing the increase in the crimes. They demanded that effective steps should be taken on emergent basis to rid the country of the present crisis being faced by the industry and making a favourable atmosphere.
They proposed that the cost of production should be decreased by five to six percent, loans should be provided on low interest, and uninterrupted supply of powers and gas should be ensured so that textile industry of the country could flourish. The further said that the historical mandate given by the people to the present government was a test case. The Young Entrepreneurs said that the new government should prepare all the policies relating to trade and commence with the consultations of the private sector.
