US MIDDAY: copper slips

US copper futures fell before steadying at lower levels early Tuesday as a stronger tone in the dollar was seen exerting downward pressure across the broader metals complex, brokers said. Copper for July delivery was down 2.95 cents at $3.7065 per lb by 10:34 am EDT (1434 GMT) on the Comex metals division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The morning range was from $3.6875 to $3.75.By 9 am EDT (1300 GMT), volumes were estimated at a modest 2,998 lots.
