The government is committed to maintaining law and order in the country at all cost and eliminating the menace of sectarianism in Dera Ismael Khan and other parts of the country, said A. Rehman Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs here on Friday.
He was talking to Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker of National Assembly who called on him in Interior Ministry. Malik informed the deputy speaker that law enforcement agencies had responded promptly to the D I Khan killings and out of seven culprits involved in the crime, the two had been apprehended.
The deputy speaker thanked the advisor on behalf of the people of D.I. Khan for opening of roads for the return and rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of South Waziristan and said that it had changed the lives of the tribesmen for the better.
He requested the advisor to take immediate steps for dealing with sectarianism in D. I. Khan. Meanwhile, Abdool Rashid Meerun, High Commissioner of Mauritius also called on A. Rehman Malik in his office and discussed matters of mutual interest.
