Punjab government has constituted a "Private Sector Development Committee" (PSDC) for industrial development and resolving the problems and difficulties being confronted by the business community in the province.
Official Sources told Business Recorder here on Friday that the main target of the PSDC is to provide leadership to private sector development initiatives and assist the Punjab government in making expeditious decisions and ensuring effective coordination among the stakeholders.
The committee will ensure that strategy for private sector development remains updated and relevant besides recombining specific private sector's development initiatives to concerned government departments. They said that apart from this the committee will provide guidance and support to the proposed Private-Public Partnership Cell for the private sector development related initiatives in Punjab.
The Committee would also act as a forum where specific departments can propose new initiatives for private sector development and committee can recommend perusal of these initiatives to the Provincial government, the sources added.
