Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa has said that Pakistan wants to take maximum benefit from the experiences and resources of Iran while both the countries can counter the challenges besetting the region with unity and mutual co-operation.
He was talking to Iranian Consul General in Lahore Saeed Kharazi who called on him at Chief Minister's Secretariat, here on Saturday. The chief minister said that the principled and unequivocal stance of Iran on national and international issues is commendable. He said that brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan are deep rooted and have stood the test of time.
Iranian Consul General Saeed Kharazi said that Pakistan is a very significant neighbouring country for Iran and importance of the ties between the two countries can be judged from the fact that Lahore has been declared twin city of Mashhad and Esfahan simultaneously. He said that Lahore is the only city of the world, which is the twin city of two cities of Iran. He said that a road of Lahore has been named after Esfahan while a road in Esfahan is being named after Lahore.
