LDA retrieve land worth billions

The Estate Management Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority, after carrying out a massive operation against the land grabbers with the help of heavy police contingent, has retrieved prime land worth billions of rupees at various places in Muhammad Ali Johar Town here on Saturday.
The LDA staff foiled the attempt by the land mafia for reoccupying a 17 kanal piece of land, situated in front of Expo Centre, in Johar Town. The under-construction boundary wall around the same piece of land was also demolished. The staff also apprehended the accused Abdul Majeed, who was supervising the building work and handed over to Satokatla Police for registration of case against him.
It is pertinent to mention that the LDA staff was attacked during an anti-land grabbing operation about six week ago. A case had also been registered against the persons involved in this attack with the local police.
In another operation, the LDA staff retrieved eleven residential plots situated in J-1 and K Blocks of Johar Town Phase-II. The staff had to face severe resistance from the residents of a local village Rasoolpura. However, their resistance was thwarted and the operation was completed.
