'Provision of flour at fixed rate top priority of government'

Provincial Food Minister, Malik Nadeem Kamran has said that provision of flour to the masses at the fixed rate is the top priority of the government and no compromise would be made in this regard. The elements indulging in profiteering would be taken to task, he added.
He was presiding over a high level meeting regarding flour price, here on Saturday. Secretary Food, Iftikhar Ahmed Rao, Director Food, Wasim Mukhtar and other senior officers were also present on this occasion. The minister said that flour is one of the most important essential items hence no one will be allowed to make any arbitrary decision in this regard.
The minister further said that negotiations with Flour Mills Association are proceeding smoothly and no decision has been made regarding increase in the rate of flour so far. He said that stern action would be taken, without any discrimination, against the elements, which arbitrarily increased the flour price, he warned.
