P&G, READ Foundation set up second school in Muzaffarabad

The largest school was inaugurated in Lamnian Village, located some 50 kilometers from main Muzaffarabad city. The school will educate 150 student in a safe, seismic compliant structure, among whom six orphaned children will get free education.
The school has been established under "Safe Schooling for Building Futures" - a joint partnership of P&G Pakistan and READ Foundation, which is the largest education organisation working in the area.
This school follows in the wake of overwhelming success of the first P&G-READ Foundation School in Muzaffarabad, which is now one of the largest school in Azad Kashmir. The P&G-READ Foundation School at Lamnian is housed in beautiful pre-fabricated classrooms equipped with syllabi-based modern teaching and learning resources.
It was jointly inaugurated by Deputy Speakers of the AJK Assembly, Sardar Farooq Tahir, P&G's External Relations Director for Arabian Peninsula, Yassin Attas, and Pakistan and P&G Pakistan's Country Manager, Qaisar Shareef. Total contribution from P&G Pakistan to this project to date exceeds Rs 17 million and with the new school, the total number of children who have been enrolled in this joint venture exceed 1250.-PR
