The Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa met the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President, Shahbaz Sharif and congratulated him on his unopposed election as member Punjab Assembly. Overall political situation of the country as well as matters relating to Punjab also came under discussion in the meeting.
The chief minister apprised Shahbaz Sharif about the long march of the lawyers, wheat procurement, flour crisis and the measures taken for controlling price-hike. Provincial Food Minister, Malik Nadeem Kamran, MNAs Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Saud Majeed, President PML-N Youth Wing Punjab Mian Ghulam Hussain Shahid as well as PML-N leaders Akbar Gillani and Malik Aftab were also present on the occasion.
Khosa also informed Shahbaz that campaign against hoarders of wheat and flour is being intensified in the province. He said that flour is an essential commodity of daily use, hence its supply to the people at fixed rates will be ensured. He added that no one will be allowed to indulge in profiteering.
The chief minister said that instructions have been issued to DCOs of the whole province to pay personal visits for stabilising the prices of atta and other essential items and take stern action without any discrimination against the elements involved in profiteering.
