ICCI holds youth conference

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), with the support of the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, held a youth conference for over 100 students and young entrepreneurs.
The main focus of the youth conference was entrepreneurship development, which is immensely important for the economic growth of Pakistan. "Youth has great potential and capabilities, which can be well exploited by providing them with an enabling environment and opportunities, so that they could prove their potential in entrepreneurial activities," stated Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi, president of ICCI at the occasion of youth conference.
Ashfaq Mehmood, Secretary Ministry of Youth Affairs said, "You are all aware that Ministry of Youth Affairs has made the draft of the Youth Policy, which cover many aspects relating to youth but Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry and CIPE deserve great appreciation for excellent effort in bringing youth from universities and businesses at one platform to discuss the document."
Gregg Willhauck from CIPE Washington highlighted the importance of youth participation in the policy development process by mentioning examples of such initiatives in countries such as Romania, Afghanistan and Egypt, etc.
