Punjab government has initiated a well-knitted plan for setting up Physiotherapy Units in all social security hospitals for mitigating the problems of industrial workers as well as to provide treatment facilities at their doorstep.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that work on this programme would soon be carried out. In addition to this, most modern social security hospitals of 100 beds each are being established in Sialkot, Gujrat, Muzaffargarh and Manga. The social security hospital in Sialkot would be operational in near future, which would help reduce the problems being confronted by the industrial workers of this export-oriented city.
Apart from this, the government is spending Rs 230 million during current fiscal for purchasing quality medicines for the social security hospitals functioning in the entire Punjab province. The government was making strenuous efforts by extending maximum treatment facilities to the industrial workers and their dependants in social security hospitals of the province, sources said.
