LDA demolishes 37 shops, illegal extensions

The Estate Management Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority has demolished 37 temporary shops and illegal extensions of seven hotels in the Johar Town area during its anti-encroachment drive. The LDA staff also uprooted iron benches, chairs and other material that had been illegally established on a six feet wide area of service road.
Arif Chatkhara and Pasta Restaurants had encroached near R-1 Block at Main Boulevard, Johar Town. The LDA staff carried an operation in the market of Block G-1 and G-4 early in the morning and demolished temporary structures of four hotels.
The staff also cleared Hakim Chowk, Johar Town. The LDA has also issued demolition notices to the encroachers along Wahdat Road from Muslim Town to Bhakywal Road, Lahore. The owners of these illegal constructions have been directed to remove them within three days.
