Britain is home to Muslim communities originating from almost every country in the Muslim world, playing an active role in every realm of life, said Robert Brinkley, British High Commissioner to Pakistan at a photo exhibition organised by the British High Commission, here on Thursday.
The British High Commission organised a photo exhibition of Peter Sanders, internationally recognised as one of the world's leading photographer of the Islamic world. Earlier, Peter Sanders work was displayed in a number of countries across the world. The British High Commission has arranged the exhibition to depict the life of Muslims in Britain, said the commissioner.
He said that according to the 2001, consensus, there are around 1.6 million Muslims in Britain, of whom 50 percent were born in Britain. The contribution of Muslim community in Britain reflects the life and opportunities for them, he added.
