06 Jun, 2008

Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Marri has said the service to people and providing them maximum facilities is top priority of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government. It was the mission given by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to PPP leadership and Sindh government is making efforts to meet all commitments and promises made to people.
Talking to people from various parts of Sindh who visited her office on Wednesday, the Information Minister said that in the past the dictators created differences among provinces through conspiracies and made the people to indulge into infighting.
"It is unfortunate that such conspirators are still trying to damage national harmony and unity of Pakistan", she added. Commenting over the statement of Mumtaz Bhutto about her recent visit of Punjab and meeting with Punjab Government's Senior Minister Raja Riaz, said that if Mumtaz Bhutto was sincere to the people of Sindh he would have not signed 1996 black NFC Award.
She said today when the democratic forces had taken decision against Kalabagh Dam than people like Mumtaz Bhutto had started misguiding the people and created divisions among them. She said that during her Punjab visit, neither Raja Riaz nor PPP Punjab said any thing, which might have caused division between people of Sindh and Punjab.
"We are happy that the rejection of Kala Bagh Dam (KBD) has come from the Federal Government", she added. She made it clear that building smaller dams as per their needs is the right of Provinces and as agreed by Raja Riaz, no project can be initiated lacking consensus among the people of all the provinces.
"Rejecting all such projects which create differences among the people of Pakistan, will be in the larger interest of nation and country". The minister said that Pakistan does not need those people who in the name of politics are creating differences and divisions among the people but need such leadership which work truly for the national unity and integrity of Pakistan.
