The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued bailable warrants to arrest the SHO, Bakhar city Police Station, Shahzad Rafique and Sub-Inspector (SI), Ghulam Shabbir Khan to ensure their appearance before the court on June 24.
Justice, Hafiz Tariq Nasim directed the senior civil judge, Bhakkar to get the two police officers arrested and release them on bail of Rs 50, 000 each to ensure their appearance before the court. Their arrest warrants were issued during hearing a petition moved by one Muhammad Ramzan who has accused an inspector of Elite Force Bhakkar, Mohammad Iqbal of raiding his house with a team of staff on pretext of arresting a proclaimed offender.
The petitioner said the alleged offender was never recovered from his house. The petitioner contended that he had moved an application to the SHO for registration of a case against Iqbal and his accomplices but no action was taken against the accused.
He prayed to the court that the orders should be issued to the police for registration of a case against Iqbal and other officials involved in the raid. Earlier, the court issued notices to the SHO and SI but they did not comply with the order. The LHC, however on flouting the order, issued their bailable arrest warrants.
