Secretary General PPP Jahangir Badar has said that his party still stands by the spirit of Bhurban declaration vis restoration of deposed judges and the difference of opinion with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is only on the modalities.
Talking to a private television channel late Thursday night he said that in his personal view the Bhurban declaration was a hurried decision and the mechanism for its implementation was not discussed at length during the meeting. He said that no parliament in the world can do legislation or amend the constitution through resolutions.
The constitutional experts are divided in this regard he said explaining some think the job can be done through resolution and executive order while other bear the opinion that it should be done through proper constitutional process. However the package is yet in the shape of proposal and changes can be incorporated in it through consultation.
To a question, he said that if the coalition partners succeed to evolve consensus on the package then there will be no difficulty to get it approved from the parliament. To another question, he said since his party do not accept Musharraf as constitutional president, there is no question of giving indemnity to his steps.
