A Sindhi Kahani conference will be held at the University of Karachi (KU) on June 7. An announcement to this effect was made by the spokesman of the institution on Friday. He said the daylong moot would be organised under the auspices of the KU Department of Sindhi.
The spokesman said the conference was aimed at underlining the importance of story and fiction writing and discuss its impact on the society. He pointed out that eminent Urdu and Sindhi writers would present research and critical papers on the subject.
KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside over the opening session, while scholar and writer Amar Jalil will present a special paper. Provincial ministers Manzoor Hussain Wasan and Sassi Palejo would be the chief guest.
The conference will be held in three sessions and a writing competition will also be a part of the moot. The young writers would be invited to participate in the competition following which judges would present awards to the best three stories. MPAs Muzaffar Ali Shajra and Munawwar Ali Abbasi would be the chief guest in the opening session, it was further stated.
