Chairman Railways Muhammad Kashif Murtaza has directed Railways officials to ensure maintenance and timely repair of track machines. He gave directive in this regard while presiding a high level meeting at Railways headquarters here on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by GM Operations Asad Saeed, Additional GM Infrastructure Saeed Akhtar, member Finance Jehangir Aziz and other high officials. AGM Saeed Akhtar and Chief Engineer Open Lines Anjum Pervaiz gave briefing to the chairman about track machines.
The Chairman directed that proper planning should be carried out to ensure that estimates for new track machines is made well before machines already operating complete their life. Railways officials told him that machines are required for Railways project for dualisation of track and PC-I in this regard have already been sent to Planning Directorate.
He was also told that some machines were sent for repair and would be received soon. The chairman said despite paucity of funds, government is utilising all available resources to provide best travelling facilities to masses.
