In this knowledge-based millennium, what distinguishes a good university from an ordinary seat of higher learning is its capacity to create new knowledge and its ability to transfer its applied research and technological innovations into marketable products in order to generate wealth and contribute towards national development.
The establishment of Technology Incubation Center and Intellectual Property Rights Office at NUST are timely steps in the right direction. The very concept has tremendous potential and immense possibilities and given NUST's commitment to this cause availability of business support services and the expertise of its managers, I have no doubt in my mind that it will yield fruitful results. I fully commend the efforts of the university in this regard and wish success to the TIC team in their endeavours.
