Water and Sanitation Authority Managing Director Dr Javed Iqbal has said the crash programme launched by the Water and Sanitation Agency for desilting of eight major drains of the city is being carried out by Wasa.
A spokesman said on Monday that 35 kilometres out of 41 kilometres length of these drains, falling in the Wasa service area, had been de-silted up to bed level for ensuring speedy disposal of rain water from the city during monsoon season. "The remaining work will be completed in a week," he added.
