CDGK to spend Rs 22 million for recreational facilities

City District Government Karachi has decided to start different projects costing Rs 22.50 million meant to provide recreational facilities at Clifton Beach Park. The projects include a monorail to be run at a cost of Rs 10 million while another Rs 10 million will be spent on organising a weekly local and international talent show and children amusement and recreational event.
Offers have been invited from private sector for improving the facilities like balloon ride, 'Karachi Eye,' Moving dinosaurs and computerised musical fountain at Clifton Beach Park.
Besides Beach Park, modern facilities are also being provided in other city parks at a cost of Rs 6.7 million. These includes provision of amusement facilities and balloon ride at Hill Park and provision of computerised musical fountain and moving dinosaurs, installation of computerised musical fountain in Aziz Bhatti Park and start of work on provision of recreational facilities for children on 4-acres of land in Getter Baghicha.
The City Government's Department of Parks and Horticulture has invited offers by June 26 from interested companies/organisations/persons on one, five and 10 year agreement basis for provision and operation of these facilities.
