Pilot dies in PAF aircraft crash

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed near Mardan on Wednesday, killing its pilot, the PAF said. "Pakistan Air Force announces with great sorrow and grief that a T-37 Trainer Jet aircraft, crashed near Mardan. The pilot of the aircraft, Pilot Officer Samman Riaz embraced Shahadat," it said. He was on a routine training mission.
No loss of life or property has been reported on ground, the statement said. The crash apparently occurred due to technical malfunction, it said. A board of inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of accident, the statement said.
