Over 6,300 contractual employees of PIA would be regularised, according to the recent decision announced by the government. According to PIA sources, the employees who are to be regularised are in Grade I to Grade VIII that is equivalent to BPS-1 to BPS-15 of the government sector.
"These employees would be regularised on issuance of notification by the concerned authorities," the sources said. Answering to a question they were of the view that regularisation of services of these employees would not have any financial impact as they have already been getting wages according to the existing grades.
They said after regularisation the employees would be eligible to get medical facility, discounted air ticket and pension. The government has recently announced to regularise the services of contractual employees from BPS-1 to BPS-15 of the Federal government and corporations.
