Nineteen workers were killed when a landslide buried their factory in northern China while they were inside, local authorities said Saturday. The landslide hit the brick factory in Luliang city while employees were inside working, local officials were quoted by the China News agency saying. More than 300 rescue workers, some using earth-moving machinery, have been called in to search for survivors.
The landslide comes after an explosion in a coal mine in the same province of Shanxi on Friday which has left at least 27 workers dead. Seven other miners are still trapped in the mine, state media said Saturday.
