Chairman, World Punjabi Congress (WPC), Fakhar Zaman, on Monday left here for India to attend a seminar on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in New Delhi. WPC India and 'Forum for Indo-Pak friendship' are jointly organising the event as part of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed's birthday celebrations on June 21.
Fakhar Zaman will also participate in the Indian Academy of Letter's prestigious programme 'Rubru' (Encounter). Before leaving for India he said that tributes will be paid to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto by ex-Indian Prime Minister I K Gujral, Kuldip Nayyar, Dr S S Noor, MP B Ramuwalia, Dr Qamar Rais, Dr Fatima Hussain, journalist Karan Sawhney, businessman Vikramjeet Saini and representatives of political parties such as Congress, BJP, CPM, CPI and Akalidal.
WPC Chairman will also receive award for the best 'Peace Maker' of the year. He will also be conferred award by 'Cultural and Literary Forum' on his novel 'Toon Keh Mein' which has been declared the best writing of year 2007.
