Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Lahore is organising a one-day conference at Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Tuesday, to discuss the problems caused by birds at airports.
The issues to be discussed in the moot include: how to overcome bird-related incidents at airports, environmental pollution to get rid of the places being source of bird feeding, water ponds around airports, removal of bird nests from the airport surroundings, poultry farms, fish farms and slaughter houses providing friendly environment to birds.
CAA spokesman Kamran Malik here on Monday said there has been an increase in the number of bird-related air accidents causing huge losses to the airlines. He said that bird-related air accidents could result in a big air crash and loss to human life. He said that representatives of Pakistan Army, Air Force, City District Government and various civic agencies and airlines will participate in the conference and give suggestions to overcome these problems.
