Balochistan budget on June 21

Balochistan budget for financial year 2008-9 will be presented on June 21. The Central and three provincial governments have announced their budgets but Balochistan could not present its budget owing to financial problems. This was stated by Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay and Finance Minister Asim Kurd Galloo at a Press conference here on Wednesday.
Maulana Wasay said that new budget would be deficit budget but situation would be better this time. Maulana Wasay said that for the first time leaders of all the parliamentary parties presented Balochistan case at Islamabad. He said it is good omen that a committee has been formed for Gas Development Surcharge and NFC Award.
"The Centre is ready to give us our right." In Pursuance of the direction of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Balochistan will get additional revenue amounting to Rs 3 billion as gas sale agreement between the Oil and Gas Development Corporation Ltd (OGDCL) and the Uch Power Ltd. He said efforts were underway to convert Rupees 19 billion Overdraft of the province into soft loan. This would save payment of heavy interest every month, he added.
