Turkmenistan Ambassador, Sapar Beerdiniyazov, delivered a lecture on Bairam Khan, and his role in strengthening the Moghul empire in the sub continent at the Islamic University here on Friday. Although he was in the army, Bairam Khan's was also a pioneering role in introducing glorious Muslim culture to the subcontinent. His cultural efforts reached present day Myanmar, he added.
IIU President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui described Bairam Khan as visionary, as far as consolidating the Mughal rule in Central Asia and Indo-Pak subcontinent. The 88th birthday of Professor Emeritus Dr Ahmad Hasan Dani was also celebrated at the Islamic University premises after the lecture.
Dr Eynullah Madad Ali, Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Dr Ahsan Ali, Vice Chancellor Hazara University; Dr Mina Zulfiqar Ali, Farhat Iftikhar Gill, Asstt. Professor National Institute of Pakistan Studies, Quaid-e-Azam University, also spoke on the contribution of scholar Ahmad Hasan Dani.
