The Estate Management Directorate (EDM) of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has continued to carry its anti-encroachments drive in the city. The LDA sources informed Business Recorder that its EDM has demolished more illegally constructed structures on green belts and roadside, starting from the Social Security Hospital to Thokar Niaz Beg on both sides of Multan Road.
The authority has dismantled nine illegally set up animal fodder cutters removed nearby rooms being used as fodder stores in this area. Further, the LDA has also razed seven restaurants and tandoors, 17 temporary shops (khokhas) and two furniture showrooms during the operation. Further, the staff members working for the drive also razed several 'tharas' and ladders in the city.
