All set to hold by-polls in Punjab

The government in Punjab has finalised the preparations for the by-elections assigned duties to the concerned staff. According to detail, the by-elections on June 26 will be held for six National and 16 Provincial Assembly seats.
The sources of Provincial Election Commission informed Business Recorder that the by-elections would be fair and transparent and the candidates would be bound to follow the rules and regulations. Further, the election campaign would end on the night between June 24 and 25 at 12 am.
The Chief Secretary, Punjab has directed all the DCO's, District Administration, Police and other law enforcing agencies to control the law and order situation across Punjab. The Election Commission has also imposed a ban on the election campaign near polling stations.
In Multan, the election campaign is in full swing for the Provincial seat of Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, now being contested by his brother, Mureed Hussain Qureshi. Makhdoom had already addressed public meetings in this constituency. According to the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) sources, its Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister, Syed yousaf Raza Gillani would visit Jahania on June 22 to address a public meeting in that constituency in connection with the election campaign.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Multan sources told that the party is preparing to welcome the leaders in a befitting manner. It should this will be Zardari's first visit to Multan after his release from jail and return from exile.
