STC sets up stall in Beijing exhibition

To project tourism and attract Chinese tourists, the Sarhad Tourism Corporation (STC), has set up its stall in the Beijing International Tourism Exhibition (Bite), said a senior official. 'STC is working to encourage foreign investments in tourism sector by opening up Culture and Heritage sites.
It is also establishing hotels, resorts, ski resorts, theme parks, zoo, Safari park, fish aquarium, arranging tour operators for cultural and archaeological adventures', said the in charge of the STC, Muhammad Ali Syed to APP at the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation's pavilion established at Bite.
The three-day exhibition is scheduled to conclude on Sunday evening. The STC in charge was confident that participating in such activities would help promote tourism in his province.
He also said that the STC for the benefit of the Chinese tourists could also arrange visits with Mountain expedition agencies, transporters and other tourism related activities in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Further, he pointed out that there are number of tourist destinations in the NWFP including Lake Saiful Muluk and Takht-i- Bhai Monastery. The STC especially published handbills and brochures for the intending Chinese tourists who evinced keen interest in visiting these places.
The STC, he said has also established its rest house at Nathiagali, besides introducing Khyber Steam Safari Service and Buddha Kara (Swat) for the interest of tourists. The Shandur Polo festival and Polo on Yaks (Baroghil Festival) are some other events of tourists attraction. Moreover, a number of ancient sites have also been preserved in the province, he said.
