Edhi to establish alms and food houses for poor people

Prominent philanthropist and eminent social worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi here Sunday said that he had turned down the foreign assistance worth millions of dollars.
He said, " I do not need financial assistance from any foreign country as my countrymen and the nation will give me donation. I beg to my countrymen for establishing "lungers" (alms & food houses) in the country". He was talking to journalists here at the press club on Sunday after his arrival on countrywide begging mission in the provincial capital. "I want that no one should sleep hungry in any part of the country.
In this regard Edhi service will set up and start "lungers" at all its centers in the country in order to deliver food to the poor people," he said, and appealed to the people to lend cooperation to the Edhi centers for the purpose. He directed the Edhi members, workers and volunteers to perform their duties sincerely and enthusiastically.
