Criminal involved in illegal arms trade held

Police on Sunday arrested a criminal involved in selling illegal weapons and preparing bogus arm licenses and seized a huge cache of arms from him. As per details, police got a secret information that Ishtiaq Ahmed, a resident of Mian Mir Colony Dharampura, was dealing in illegal weapons and providing sophisticated weapons to proclaimed offenders and criminals involved in heinous crimes.
Keeping in view the information, DIG Investigation Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira directed SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk to arrest the criminal and a special team was constituted under the supervision of Inspector CIA City division Raees Ahmed Khan who arrested the said culprit.
During interrogation, he confessed that he used to prepare bogus arm licenses. A special team has been also constituted for the arrest of those who obtain illegal weapons and fake licenses from him. Four cases have also been traced against him in various police stations of the city. The police recovered 32 pistols, two revolvers, five pump-actions, 11 repeaters, seven rifles and more than 15 hundred bullets from his possession.
