Health minister visits Civil Hospital

The Provincial Health Minister, Dr Saghir Ahmed, has said that on-going work upgradation of cardiac unit, gastro investigation unit, Guybae I, II and III, surgical units IV and V, plastic surgery unit and installation of modern lifts for urology unit at Civil Hospital Karachi at cost of Rs 90 million is in final stages and completed soon.
He stated this during a visit to Civil Hospital Karachi and detail review of ongoing ADP schemes in a meeting with Medical Superintendent Dr Professor Mohammed Saeed Qureshi, Principal Dow Medical University Salahuddin Azfar and Project Director Accident and Emergency and Ancillary Services Complex here on Sunday.
On the occasion the minister expressed indignation over carelessness and silliness of Executive Engineer Yusuf. Dr Saghir said that two new ventilators are being provided in cardiac care unit to facilitate the patients.
During visit to paediatric ward, the minister directed Principal Dow University to provide ICU facility for serious patients of paeds surgery and provision of medicines from Paeds ICU.
The medical superintendent was directed to ensure continuous supply of medicines to patients admitted in all the wards. On the occasion the minister issued directive for ensuring round the clock availability professor, assistant professor and consultant of emergency On Call Unit and said written orders be issued in this regard. Similar directive was also issued for RMO on call unit in the emergency ward. The minister also went round the paeds emergency ward, dihorrea unit, cardiac surgery, medical, II and V and surgical wards I and II.
