SASB starts raising concrete structures on forestland in IHK

24 Jun, 2008

In occupied Kashmir, Delhi-based Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has started raising concrete structures on the forestland transferred to it by the puppet administration. The construction of buildings is going on war-footing at Dumail, one of the resting points for the cave-bound pilgrims, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.
The puppet regime had claimed that the land transfer to the SASB was temporary--to last for 'Yatra' duration--for raising prefabricated structures only for camping purposes.
However, the concrete construction on the land belies the regime's claims. The President of Baltal Traders Association, Bashir Ahmad, talking to media persons said, "The buildings are being constructed at the behest of the SASB with the connivance of officials. It is a conspiracy to destroy the eco-system of the area."
Meanwhile, special arrangements made by the puppet regime for the pilgrims have caused hardships for nearby villagers. The villagers said that there was an outbreak of jaundice in Haripora village but the officials did not bother to visit the site, while all medical facilities were available for the pilgrims. Manigam villagers said that mosque land was being used as parking for the 'yatra' vehicles.
