24 Jun, 2008

Senior Vice President PML-N Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that the method of the restoration of judges through finance bill is not suitable in any way either legally, or morally. He said this while talking to media men at his residence here on Monday.
"That society or government which couldn't provide justice to its chief justice and judges, how could it possibly to provide justice to its people", he added. He said that to probe the investigations of Benazir's murder case from UNO, simply means that our judiciary has totally lost its worth and it is now just a rubber stamp.
Responding to a question, Javed Hashmi said that the leadership of all the parties should now understand that nation cannot be satisfied with only lip service because they want restoration of the judges in true sense. He said that restoration of judges be done as per Murree Declaration signed by political parties.
He said that PCO judges and the judges appointed on ad hoc basis, both would not be acceptable at any cost. He said that people want the restoration of Iftikhar Chaudhry and other 60 judges and the restoration of the judges could be possible only through resolution.
