'Maximum health facilities in Northern Areas top priority'

The government is giving top priority to health sector and huge amount is being spent for the provision of maximum facilities for the patients in Northern Areas (NAs) specially to give full health coverage to the people of Skardu. DHQs Hospital Skardu Medical Superintendent (MS) Lieutenant Colonel Altaf Hussain while giving an exclusive interview to Radio Pakistan Skardu stated this.
He said DHQs Hospital Skardu was facilitating all the patients of both districts of Skardu and Ghanche in NAs. He informed that the vacant posts of 27 specialist doctors and para-medical staff would be filled soon in the hospital. The MS said a mother and child care block was being completed while trauma centre was also being constructed in the hospital. All most modern equipment would be installed in the centre.
He further said that full treatment facilities for Hepatitis A, B, C, were available in the hospital, and a TB control centre had also been established here. He said the service structure was approved by the federal government for the promotion of the doctors, adding that most of the doctors had been given promotion in BPS-19 and 20.
The MS said recently a new most modern dental centre had been established while C.T. Scan machine for the facilitation of patients would be installed soon in DHQs Hospital Skardu.
