Nine killed, 23 injured in accidents

As many as nine persons were killed and 23 sustained injuries in three separate road accidents here on Wednesday. According to details, the first incident occurred at Riazabad where a speedy and a loaded trailer heading Karachi from Kallar Kahar rammed into a parked tractor-trolley loaded with electrical polls.
As a result, three trailer riders, Gul Muhammad, Muhammad Ismail and Muhammad Sabir were killed on the spot. Another two persons, M. Azam and M. Riaz resident of Mukhdumrashid who were sleeping near the stationary tractor-trolley were also crushed to death under the trolley as a result of the collision.
Another accident claimed four lives and left another 19 injured as a passenger wagon was hit by a speeding truck near village Bhara on Muzaffargarh-Dera Ghazi Khan road. Four persons who died on the spot were identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, Khuda Bukhash, Abdur Rashid, and Aashaq Hussain.
The patrolling police Ghazi Ghat van overturned while rushing to the accident site for rescue operation. Four policemen sustained injuries. DSP Police station Saddar Mehr Javed Iqbal and others reached the spot for the rescue operation.
