The Nazim, City District Government Lahore, Mian Amer Mahmood has directed to simplify the auction procedure for residential and commercial plots, situated in various housing schemes under the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
He was chairing a meeting to review the development projects proposed by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Wasa and Tepa for the fiscal year 2008-2009 on Wednesday disclosed an official.
The Director General, LDA, Ifran Ali, Additional Director General, Ahmad Ghazali, Managing Director, Wasa Dr Javed Iqbal, heads of finance and engineering wings of these organisations and other senior officials attended the meeting. The Nazim further ordered verification of these plots including their actual locations before placing advertisement in newspapers for the auction.
To make the auction a transparent exercise of public interest, he also directed to follow simple procedure that could encourage people in general and discourage elements that give exorbitant bids for blocking the sale of these plots through auction.
The meeting was also briefed about the development projects planned by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and its subordinate agencies for construction of roads, installation of 69 new tube-wells and improvement of other infrastructure in the city during the fiscal year 2008-2009.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General said that the Engineering Wing of the LDA has been reorganised in view of launching the development projects as per public need, their timely execution and proper maintenance of completed building and roads. Further, the city has been divided into four working divisions and two directors have been entrusted the responsibility of supervising all development works in their jurisdictions, he added.
